In its continued commitment to promote disaster preparedness and safety awareness, Sorsogon State University – Castilla Campus successfully conducted the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on September 11, 2025.
The drill was spearheaded by the Office of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC) under the leadership of Prof. Achilles Honasan, DRRM-CC Coordinator. The activity was conducted in close partnership with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Castilla and received full support from the Red Cross Youth Council as well as the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) of the Castilla Campus.
This collaborative effort underscores the university’s dedication to enhancing disaster resilience by equipping its community with practical skills and knowledge for effective earthquake preparedness and response.
