Every September, the Philippines observes Bamboo Month by virtue of Proclamation No. 1401, s. 2022, highlighting the ecological, economic, and cultural importance of bamboo, the β€œgreen gold” of our nation. Beyond symbolizing resilience, bamboo serves as a vital resource for sustainability, livelihood, and climate change mitigation.

In line with this national celebration, Sorsogon State University – Castilla Campus, through its Bamboo Research Center (BRC), proudly presents a hybrid seminar:
Training on Bamboo Production and Management
Theme: BAMBUHAYAN: Yaman at Katatagan Tungo sa Luntiang Kalikasan
πŸ“… September 29–30, 2025
πŸ“ Audio-Visual Hall, Farmers Training Center
πŸ’» Via Zoom

The first day of the event will bring together experts, stakeholders, and advocates to explore the vast potential of bamboo, from its role in ecological conservation to its applications in sustainable industries and resilient communities. The seminar aims to strengthen awareness, encourage innovation, and inspire collective action toward harnessing bamboo for inclusive growth and environmental stewardship.
On the second day, participants will engage in simultaneous bamboo planting across the four campuses and partner agencies, translating knowledge into hands-on action.

Together, let us celebrate bamboo as a pillar of sustainability and recognize its contribution to building a greener, more resilient tomorrow.
