SorSU College of Teacher Education and Midwifery organizes COTEDM Week & Lotus Conference


As part of SorSU’s commitment to excellence, the College of Teacher Education and Midwifery currently hosts the COTEDM Week, spanning from May 6 to May 11, 2024. Carrying the theme, “Ignite, Innovate, Inspire: Revolutionizing Teacher Education Towards a Culture of Excellence,” the week-long event commenced with a mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Fernando Caindic.

Dr. Alfonso L. Garcia Jr. (Dean, College of Education), graced the occasion with his inspiring opening remarks, infusing the event with anticipation for the days ahead.

Diverse teams representing various disciplines were introduced including Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) English & Filipino, Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) Science & Math, Bachelor of Physical Education (BPed), Bachelor of Culture & Arts Education (BCAEd), Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNED), Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTED), Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) (A) and Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) (B), each passionately voicing their support for their respective teams. To amplify the atmosphere further, talented students took the stage and delivered intermission performances from lively rumba to spirited cha-cha dances.
The event culminated with Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Sorsogon City Campus Director) delivering closing remarks, encapsulating the spirit of camaraderie and collective excitement. Later in the afternoon, CoTEdM hosted the Localized Tutorial Services (LOTUS) Conference. This gathering showcased the profound impact of student-led tutoring within the local community.
