Sorsogon State University (SorSU) community, united in spirit and led by its top management officials, teaching & non-teaching personnel, and SorSUeno students, heartwarmingly celebrated the birthday of its visionary and empowered leader — SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus — today, February 5, 2024, at the SorSU Social Hall, Sorsogon City Campus.
The birthday festivities included a surprise appearance from family members, video greetings from SorSU officials, faculty, and non-teaching personnel, as well as a gift-giving ceremony. Heartfelt messages from family, closest friends, and colleagues — including her husband Atty. Charles De Jesus, Hon. Evelina G. Escudero, Hon. Marie Bernadette G. Escudero (1st District Representative, Sorsogon Province), CHED Commissioner Dr. Ethel Agnes P. Valenzuela (SorSU BOR Chairperson), Atty. Septon A. Dela Cruz (Director IV, CHED-CAR), and PASUC V presidents — added warmth to the celebration.
In her message, SorSU President De Jesus conveyed her profound gratitude for the celebration the SorSU community has prepared for her, emphasizing her appreciation for the warm greetings and thoughtful messages she received. She also acknowledged during her speech the collective efforts that contribute to the success and milestones of the institution.
“From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank each and every one of you. You are all my inspiration. Malayo pa, pero malayo na.”
