SorSU Dance Sports competition elevates SorSU Games 2024 spirit — COT & CoTEdM dominate the dance floor, bag gold in Latin Dance & Standard Dance (college level), respectively

To unleash SorSUenos’ creativity and expression through movement and artistry, at the same time, provide a platform to showcase their unique prowess on the dancefloor, Sorsogon State University – Sports, Culture and Arts Services Unit, headed by Mr. Oliver F. Garbin (Head, SorSU – Sports, Culture and Arts Services Unit) through its SorSU Sports Unit-Sorsogon City Campus, with the proactive involvement of the following organizers: Mr. Tomas M. Encinares Jr. (Tournament Manager), alongside Mr. Roy O. Jarlego (Sorsogon City Campus Culture and Arts Coordinator) and Ms. Lizel D. Lerios (Adviser of Future PEHM Mentors), successfully organized SorSU Dance Sports competition on March 14, 2024, at the SorSU Covered Court, Sorsogon City Campus.


Ms. Shayne Kate A. Gozo (University Coordinator, Culture and Arts) formally commenced the competition with an opening message, emphasizing to cheer for all the talented participants in the competition. Following the opening remarks was the parade of the competitors per unit/college. Moreover, before the dance sports proper, the adjudicators were introduced, namely, Ms. Jaydee G. Gaton, Mr. Michael C. Erlano, and Ms. Monica E. Barrameda.


First Round Latin, First Round Standard, Solo Dance Latin, and Solo Dance Standard, particularly Cha-cha-cha & Rumba (American Latin) and Slow Waltz & Tango (American Standard), were among the eagerly-awaited captivating performance segments that ignited the dance floor.
Conclusively, the College of Technology (House of Crimson Wolves) reigned in the Latin Dance category, while the College of Teacher Education and Midwifery (House of Navy Falcons) ruled the Standard Dance category. Moreover, under the LHS Category, Unit III (House of Hufflepuff) prevailed in the Latin Dance Category. The following winners are as follows, to wit:
