SorSU embarks on Academic and Cultural Immersion Program in Vietnam

To foster multicultural awareness and global competency among its students, Sorsogon State University (SorSU) launched an academic and cultural immersion program from April 13 to May 3, 2025, at Kien Giang University (KGU) in Kien Giang Province, Vietnam. This program aims to engage SorSU delegates in international academic practices and diverse cultural perspectives.

A welcome meeting was held on April 14, 2025, where Dr. Nguyen Trung Can (Vice Rector of Kien Giang University) addressed the delegates and expressed his enthusiasm for the continued collaboration between the two institutions. In his message, he said, “This is another proof of the strong partnership between Sorsogon State University and Kien Giang University. We are honored to accommodate such a great and beautiful delegation from the Philippines. We hope that you will enjoy your stay here at KGU and in Vietnam. We always bear in mind that your safety is our responsibility.”

The collaboration between SorSU and KGU was formally established in September 2023 through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), beginning with a successful faculty exchange program. As part of the partnership’s early milestones, two KGU students stayed at SorSU- Bulan Campus as international visiting students in August 2024.

The SorSU delegation, consisting of Erwin Formento (Bachelor of Public Administration IV), Mel-jhun Evangeliat (Bachelor of Public Administration IV), Rhyz April Gueta (Bachelor of Public Administration III), Lougen Lozada (BTVTEd Computer Systems Servicing II), Mariel Angela Rodrigo (BTVTEd Computer Systems Servicing II), Kharl Andrei Hizon (BTVTEd Computer Servicing II), Josh Bayoca (BTVTEd Computer Systems Servicing II), Gabriel Joash de Gala (BTVTEd Computer Systems Servicing II), was accompanied by Mr. Jopet Vincent B.
