Organized by The International Academic Forum (IAFOR), in partnership with the IAFOR Research Centre of the Osaka School of International Policy (OSSIP) at Osaka University, Sorsogon State University (SorSU) faculty members Dr. Aaron A. Funa (College of Teacher Education and Midwifery) and Dr. Olive N. Mancera (Program Chair, Educ. & Entrep – Magallanes/Faculty, College of Technology) joined the five-day IAFOR – The Forum at the Toshi Center Hotel, Tokyo, Japan, and successfully presented their research papers at the 15th Asian Conference on Social Sciences (ACSS2024) and 15th Asian Conference in Cultural Studies (ACCS2024), respectively, held from May 23-27, 2024.
Joined by the two SorSU faculty members, the five-day international conference consisted of panel/keynote presentations, workshops, conference poster sessions, and plenary sessions on various disciplines/fields as well as global challenges. During the international event, Dr. Funa presented his research project entitled, “Development, Implementation, and Validation of Integrated STEM and Problem-Based Learning Module for Biology,” while Dr. Mancera likewise shared her research undertaking entitled, “The Use of Design Thinking in Addressing the Challenges in Learning Numeracy Skills.” Further, aside from the research presentation, Dr. Funa also chaired the session on Education and Pedagogy at the international forum.
This year’s IAFOR’s The Forum is primarily aimed at serving as a platform for global, multicultural, multidisciplinary, and inclusive discussions — bringing together international experts and practitioners as well as fostering interactive dialogues and participatory parallel sessions. (SorSU PIO)
