SorSU-Lab High Grade-7 student Renovalles hails as Third Prize/Bronze Awardee (Secondary 1 Category) at Guangdong-Hongkong-Macau Greater Bay Area Mathematical Olympiad (Big Bay Bei) 2024 Final Round – Online
The Sorsogon State University (SorSU) proudly congratulates SorSU – Laboratory High School Grade-7 student Maemi Maria Philippe J. Renovalles for her outstanding performance and achievement during the Guangdong-Hongkong-Macau Greater Bay Area Mathematical Olympiad (Big Bay Bei) 2024 Final Round (Online), triumphantly reigning as one of the Third Prize/Bronze awardees for Secondary 1 Category last March 16, 2024.
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Mathematical Olympiad (Big Bay Bei), an annual international Olympiad competition organized by OCEC from Hong Kong, is divided into two stages: (1) Big Bay Bei Heat Round and (2) Final Round (SMO Education Group, 2023). The international competition was open to all, with participating countries outside Asia.
Noteworthy, Maemi Renovalles is the sole contender from SorSU – Laboratory High School who qualified to advance to the Final Round. The Mathematics Olympiad Training League Inc. (MOTLI), the organization that supervised and coordinated the heat round in the Philippines, officially sent a communication last December 31, 2023, inviting Maemi to the competition’s final round.
Furthermore, the onsite competition for the Final Round took place in Macau, China, dated March 15-17, 2024, while the online competition was held on March 16, 2024, where Maemi was ultimately hailed as one of the Third Prize awardees for online competition, Secondary 1 Category.
