Sorsogon State University (SorSU)-Office of the Extension and Training, in partnership with Gulay Pa More, conducted an Exploratory Meeting and Teaser Event: Mini Cooking Show on July 9, 2025, at the Fabrication Laboratory, Sorsogon State University, Sorsogon City.

The activity served as a preparatory event for the upcoming Filipino Food Fiesta, a joint initiative between SorSU and Gulay Pa More aimed at promoting vegan cuisine and highlighting locally sourced products.


During the meeting, Prof. Andrew F. Detera (Campus Director, Castilla Campus), Dr. Ana Cristina G. Fortes (Director, Extension and Training Services), Dr. Rose Ann Cleotilde Sambo (Project Leader, Castilla Campus), Ms. Ira M. Habla (Instructor, Castilla Campus), representatives from Gulay Pa More and MASIPAG, along with Ms. Joni Asia Jao (Sorsogon City Tourism), Ms. Merla P. Caguia (DTI-Sorsogon), Mr. Gines F. Deniega (OPAG-Sorsogon), Ms. Bianca Domdom (Sorsogon Creative Industry), mapped out the direction of the forthcoming food festival.


A mini cooking show followed the meeting, with live demonstrations of vegan dishes made from locally grown ingredients. The cooking segment served as a preview of what to expect during the food festival.


Through this partnership, SorSU and Gulay Pa More see the Filipino Food Fiesta as a way to promote local food products, raise awareness of vegan cuisine, and support local enterprises. (SorSU PIO)
