On February 2, 2026, Sorsogon State University (SorSU) held the Candelaria Mass at the SorSU covered court, Sorsogon City Campus, with members of the university community participating in the ceremonial blessing of candles.
The Mass, officiated by Rev. Fr. Jersom Colico, coincided with the Catholic celebration of Our Lady of Candelaria (Candlemas), which commemorates Jesus as the Light of the World. The blessed candles are traditionally kept for guidance and protection, particularly during challenging times.
