Sorsogon State University (SorSU), headed by SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, alongside the SorSU top officials namely, Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort (Vice President for Academic Affairs), Dr. Leny D. Berdin (Chief Administrative Officer – Finance Division), Dr. Ma. Sylisa J. Estur (Chief Administrative Officer – Administrative Division), Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Campus Director, SorSU-Sorsogon City Campus), Prof. Andrew F. Detera (Campus Director, SorSU-Castilla Campus), and Dr. Alfonso L. Garcia, Jr. (Dean, College of Teacher Education and Midwifery), are currently partaking at the three-day 2024 Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Annual Convention and General Assembly, from July 15-17, 2024, at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Pasay City, Metro Manila.
Centered on the theme, “Advancing Competitiveness of SUCs for National Development,” this year’s annual convention, joined by SUCs from different regions across the country, aims to foster an inclusive channel for diverse stakeholders to share various perspectives and take part in participatory discourses and discussions.
Featuring esteemed speakers/experts from the government, other agencies, and even international organizations, the three-day national convention will collaboratively explore and discuss approaches with the goal of further improving SUC programs and undertakings through varied plenary/panel sessions.
The University’s active involvement in the PASUC Annual Convention demonstrates its steadfast commitment to catalyzing change for national development, notably in the area of education and relevant sectors, encompassing local communities, as well as regional and national levels. (SorSU PIO)
