Bearing the theme, “Exemplifying Professionalism and Versatility in an Era of Connectivity: A Challenge to the Graduates,” Sorsogon State University – Laboratory High School (SorSU-LHS) successfully celebrated its 7th Commencement Exercises on June 07, 2024, at the SorSU Audio-Visual Hall, Sorsogon City Campus.
The commencement exercises formally began with a ceremonial procession with the SorSU-LHS candidates for graduation alongside their respective proud parents as well as the faculty & non-teaching personnel and SorSU executive officials headed by SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus.
Samantha Pauleen Angela S. Antes (With High Honors) delivered the Words of Welcome. Subsequently, this was followed by the Confirmation of Graduates led by SorSU President De Jesus, the awarding of medals and certificates to honor students by their respective parents, and the awarding of the National Discipline Award by the SorSU President.
Dr. Ernest Augustine D. Lucila (Doctor to Geographically Isolated Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) of the 7K (Kalusugan) – Province of Sorsogon) was this year’s distinguished guest speaker. Meanwhile, the awarding of diplomas was facilitated by SorSU President De Jesus and Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort (Vice President for Academic Affairs) and assisted by Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Campus Director, Sorsogon City Campus), Dr. Alfonso L. Garcia, Jr. (Dean, College of Teacher Education and Midwifery), Prof. Maria Flora J. Renovalles (Department Head, SorSU-LHS).
Further, the Pledge of Loyalty to the Alma Mater and Pledge to the SorSU Alumni Association were led by Ms. Roseana G. Bufete and Dr. Ricafort (President, Alumni Association), respectively. The occasion concluded with the singing of the SorSU Hymn by the Class of 2024 graduates as well as a class picture together with the SorSU executive officials.
