SorSU-Magallanes Campus celebrates new entrance gate, Agua Mismo Water Refilling Station with blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony

As part of the University’s commitment to fostering equal opportunities and development across all campuses, Sorsogon State University – Magallanes proudly inaugurated its newly constructed entrance gate and recently launched Agua Mismo Water Refilling Station with a ceremonial blessing and ribbon-cutting on May 28, 2025, marking a significant milestone for the Magallanes Campus community.

The event began with a ceremonial blessing led by Rev. Fr. Noel Espaldon, followed by the ribbon-cutting, which was facilitated by SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, alongside SorSU key officials: Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort (Vice President for Academic Affairs), Dr. Leny D. Berdin (Chief Administrative Officer – Finance Division), Prof. Lynn C. Mendoza (Campus Director, Magallanes Campus), Prof. Andrew F. Detera (Campus Director, Castilla Campus), and Dr. Ma. Lourdes G. Barrozo (Supervising Administrative Officer).


In her message, SorSU President De Jesus encouraged the Magallanes Campus community to take pride in and care for their facilities, ensuring they serve the needs of students, employees, and stakeholders. President De Jesus likewise expressed her appreciation to the campus for valuable contributions to the University’s recent achievements, stating, “Let’s not stop doing what we have started. Had it not been for my best people, my best team, my best employees, and the best students — hindi ito mangyayari.”


In addition, Dr. Mae H. San Pablo (President, Faculty Organization – Magallanes Campus) emphasized in her closing message that the occasion marks not just the opening of a new facility but also a renewed commitment to safety, sustainability, and service for the campus community.


Dr. San Pablo remarked, “The gate symbolizes a welcoming and secure environment for all, while the refilling station reflects our shared advocacy for health and environmental consciousness.”
