The Marine Biology students kicked off their preliminary journey with an engaging onboarding activities together with the faculty members headed by Ms. Mary Rose P. Gabuyo, Program Chair, BS Marine Biology, Mr. Michael H. Galapon, Research Coordinator, and Unit Head of Marine Biodiversity Research Center, and Ms. Shaira M Mendones, Marine Biology Student Organization Adviser.
The students enthusiastically participated on a series of orientations on the background and adventures of being part of a Marine Biology program, including the launching of a new MarBio student organization, and remarkable activities and seminars, alongside their classes.
Capping their fruitful week is a perfect attendance to the introductory session of the first ever Marine Biology Lecture Series with the first speaker, Charlon A. Ligson, expounding on the trends and concerns on corals and coral restoration. Mr. Ligson is a proud Sorsogueno and currently pursuing his doctoral studies in the Southern Cross University, Australia.
