The Sorsogon State University – National Service Training Program (SorSU-NSTP) conducted a two-day NSTP orientation on August 15-16, 2024, at the SorSU Social Hall, Sorsogon City Campus.

The NSTP orientation for the academic year began with opening remarks from Prof. Mary Rose B. Lacdang (NSTP Coordinator). Following this, an overview of the NSTP program was provided, which included an introduction to the three NSTP components: ROTC, CTWS, and LTS.
The orientation was structured into three sessions, each designed to provide insights into the different aspects of the program. The first session, led by Mr. Dexter A. Aurelio (NSTP Implementer), focused on the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), whereas, Ms. Kristel Kimberly Dellomas (NSTP Implementer), discussed the Literacy Training Service (LTS), focusing on how it improves communication skills. The final session, led by Major Annamy Nero (ROTC Commandant), covered the Reserved Officers Training Corps (ROTC), highlighting its role in building leadership.


The event was attended by students from the College of Teacher Education and Midwifery (CoTEdM) and the College of Engineering and Architecture (CoEA). The College of Business and Management (CBM), and College of Technology (CoT) will have their NSTP orientation on August 16, 2024.


After the presentations, a Q&A session was held to address queries from the attendees. The orientation concluded with closing remarks from Prof. Mark Darrel Ergina (NSTP Implementer), who encouraged students to actively participate in the NSTP programs. (SorSU PIO)
