To further capacitate SorSU faculty extensionists with skills to create impactful, data-driven extension projects for community needs, Sorsogon State University (SorSU), through the Office of Extension and Training Services (OET), headed by Dr. Ana Cristina G. Fortes (Director, OET), successfully spearheaded the two-day Strategic Needs Assessment for Impactful Extension Projects training from August 7-8, 2025, at the SorSU Dormtel, Sorsogon City Campus.

The two-day Strategic Needs Assessment for Impactful Extension Projects training consisted of several insightful sessions, including Session 1: Introduction and Overview of Community Needs Assessment by Ms. Joy Ninifranco and Ms. Myrna Pereyra, Session 2: Establishing Data/Data Collection by Mr. Russ Baldoza and Mr. Angelo Uclaray, Session 3: Data Analysis and Action Planning Community Needs Assessment by Ms. Annelyn V. Mendoza, and Session 4: Creating a Report and Presenting Findings to Stakeholders by Ms. Cherry Dycoco.

The event aimed to provide participants with essential knowledge, tools, and methodologies to conduct effective community needs assessments, laying the groundwork for the creation and advancement of sustainable extension programs. (SorSU PIO)
