Sorsogon State University welcomed the new school year with more than just music and festivities, students were greeted with a hearty serving of free hot rice porridge on the first day of classes.
The breakfast treat was generously sponsored by Hodreal Fit-Out & Construction, owned by a SorSU alumni couple from Batch 2014, graduates of Bachelor of Technology and Civil Engineering. Their gesture of sharing blessings with the University community embodied the true spirit of ALUMNI HEART: Helping, Encouraging, Assisting, Reaching, and Touching Lives.
Beyond filling empty stomachs, the initiative reinforces SorSU’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) on Zero Hunger, ensuring that no SorSUeno begins the day without nourishment.
With food, the lively music of the SorSU Marching Band, and the warm camaraderie of student organizations, the first day of classes became not only a celebration of learning but also of care and community. (SorSU PIO)
