Sorsogon State University (SorSU) actively participated in the Inter-Agency Forum on the EU Regulations on Pili Nut Export: Implications and Impact on the ABS Value Chain in the Philippines, held on April 10-11, 2025, at the Proxy by the Oriental, Legazpi City, Albay.

Dr. Ryan V. Dio (Vice President for Research, Extension and Training) presented the event’s objectives and expected outcomes at the forum. Attended by representatives from government agencies, academic institutions, and industry players, the forum covered key topics including: Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit Sharing, Overview of Government Legal and Regulatory Framework, EU Regulation for Pili Nut Export, and Philippine Regulatory Laws and Regulations in Securing Export Permits.


Dr. Ana Cristina G. Fortes (Director, Extension and Training), Prof. Frances Grace J. Jetomo (Head, Publication & Knowledge Management Unit), Prof. Jordan M. Pocaan (Head, Ethics Committee) and Prof. Maria Flora J. Renovalles (SorSU focal person for ABS project) were also present during the forum.
