From August 7 to 9, 2024, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD Field Office 5-Bicol Region), and partner stakeholders organized a Serbisyo Caravan entitled “CASOROG SA FUTURO: Pagtataya para sa mga Magtatapos na Pantawid Beneficiaries”, at the Provincial Gymnasium, Capitol Compound, Sorsogon City, to assist 3,750 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) who are transitioning out of the program.
The caravan was a collaborative effort, bringing together various agencies with both direct and indirect programs designed to provide economic and sustainable support to families from Sorsogon City and the Municipality of Casiguran.
The Sorsogon State University, represented by the Public Information Office headed by Ms. Myrna D. Leoncito, actively participated in the event. The university representatives assisted 4Ps beneficiaries by providing information on available programs and services, including insights into the admission process and various scholarship opportunities available. Their guidance helped students and other individuals make informed decisions about their educational futures.
By addressing the needs and concerns of the beneficiaries, the Pamantasang May Puso under the leadership of SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, demonstrated its commitment to supporting individuals as they transition from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program to greater self-sufficiency and personal growth. (SorSU PIO)
