On March 2, 2025, the Sorsogon State University-Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (SorSU-ROTC) successfully hosted the Joint Presentation of Sponsors and Escorts at the Sorsogon Sports Arena, Sorsogon City. The event commenced with the arrival of the distinguished Guest of Honor and Speaker, Col. Ronie T. Ebarita INF (MNSA) PA.
The ceremony included the entrance of the Sorsogon State University ROTC Unit, followed by the Trooping of the Line and the official Presentation of Sponsors and Escorts. The ceremonial proceedings continued with the Reading of Orders and the Pinning of Ranks, which was facilitated by SSG Marlon L. Rubios (MI) PA.
Mr. Christian G. Fugen (NSTP Coordinator) led the invocation and Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort (Vice President for Academic Affairs) gave the welcome remarks. Moreover, LTC Cliff Chester L. De Ocampo GSC (INF) PA (SorSU City Campus, ROTC Commandant) introduced the Guest of Honor and Speaker, Col. Ronie T. Ebarita INF (MNSA) PA, who delivered a message emphasizing the importance of discipline in both academic and military life.
A significant highlight of the program was the Presentation of the RAATI Awards, which honored the exceptional achievements of the SorSU ROTC Unit. The awards presented included: Best in Ceremonial Review, Best in Weapons (M16 Rifle), Best in Small Unit Leadership Training (SULT), Best in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR), and RAATI 2024 Champion.
The event highlighted the university’s commitment to excellence and its focus on developing strong and disciplined leaders through the ROTC program. (SorSU PIO)
