To create meaningful employment opportunities and connect aspiring professionals with reputable employers, Sorsogon State University (SorSU), through its Career and Job Placement/ILDO Services Unit in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Sorsogon, successfully held the UNIVERSITY JOB FAIR 2025 today, July 10, 2025, at the SorSU Audio-Visual Hall/Covered Court, Sorsogon City Campus, carrying the theme “Your Future Starts Here. Explore. Connect. Grow.”
The one-day event began with a brief program prior to the job application and interview sessions. Prof. Lelanie L. Berjuega (Director, Alumni Affairs Services & Head, Career and Job Placement/ILDO Unit Services), delivered the opening message, highlighting that the activity is more than just a gathering of companies and applicants; it is a vital bridge connecting academic experiences with real-world opportunities.
SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, conveyed her welcome message through an audio-visual presentation, noting that the Career and Job Placement Office’s establishment —singlehandedly facilitated by Prof. Berjuega for nearly 20 years — aimed at expanding services to both current students and alumni.
SorSU President De Jesus emphasized, “We know and understand that everyone needs jobs to support themselves that is why we are reaching out to you. In this way, we will be able to realize our vision of a university that truly cares.”
Mr. Dexter G. Aurelio (Coordinator, ILDO Services Unit) outlined the event’s rationale and mechanics, providing essential information about the registration process and interview procedures.
Representatives of the participating agencies and companies provided an overview of their organizations and available job vacancies, followed by the awarding of certificates.
