Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, SUC President III of Sorsogon State University, paid a courtesy visit to the Philippine Consulate General in Istanbul on June 16, 2025. She was warmly received by the office of Philippine Consul General in Sisli, Istanbul.
Accompanying Dr. De Jesus were Atty. Cinderella Filipina S. Benitez-Jaro, Executive Director of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Regional Directors and SUC Presidents from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) across the Philippines.
The delegation is in Istanbul to take part in the 2025 Global Sustainable Development Congress, a major international gathering focused on collaborative efforts to advance the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Scheduled from June 16 to 19, the event is co-hosted by Turkiye’s Council of Higher Education and organized by Times Higher Education.
The congress brings together global leaders from academia, government, business, and civil society to forge partnerships and share innovative approaches to sustainable development. The participation of the Philippine delegation highlights the country’s commitment to education-driven solutions for global challenges. (SorSU PIO)
