Three-day 6th SoRDECon 2024 successfully culminates with recognizing the best research papers in 8 categories, the best pitch, the best extension project

With the theme, “Sustainable and Resilient Future: Delivering Research and Innovations to Communities,” Sorsogon State University – Office of Research, Extension and Training (SorSU-RET), under the leadership of Dr. Ryan V. Dio (Vice President for Research, Extension and Training), officially concluded the three-day 6th Sorsogon Research, Development, and Training Conference (SoRDECon) last March 7, 2024, at the SorSU Audio-Visual Hall, Sorsogon City Campus.

Before the announcement of winners and awardees, certificates of appreciation were given to the panel of evaluators and community partners for their hard work and dedication during the three-day conference.

Ms. Frances Grace J, Jetomo (Head, Publication & Knowledge Management), Engr. Ivy Rose B. Gonzales (Head, Intellectual Property – Technology Business Management Services), Prof. Christine H. Ferolino (Director, Research and Development), and Dr. Ana Cristina G. Fortes (Director, Extension and Training Services) announced the winners for Best Poster (Faculty & Student Categories), Best Pitch, Best Research Papers (for 8 Categories), and Best Extension Project, respectively.

Afterward, the evaluation of the conference was presented by Engr. Ivy Rose B. Gonzales (Head, Intellectual Property – Technology Business Management Services), while the insights from participants were given by Dr. Aaron A. Funa and Ms. Maria Cristina B. Ditan.

Further, Dr. Ryan V. Dio (Vice President for Research, Extension and Training), in his closing message, emphasized that there is no SoRDECon 2023 when there are no completed research and extension projects conducted.

“Special awards of gratitude are extended to all who contributed from the preparatory phase up to the completion that led to the success of this three-day activity. We hope for the positive impact of this undertaking in our plans and projects for a sustainable and resilient future of our respective locality in the Bicol Region, along with our field of interests and specialization.
