SorSU attends Bicol Dagyaw 2023, CSO roles highlighted in the town hall meeting

The Sorsogon State University attended Bicol Dagyaw 2023 with the local theme: β€œπ™ˆπ™–π™¨ π™‹π™žπ™£π™–π™‘π™–π™ π™–π™¨ 𝙣𝙖 π™‡π™žπ™₯π™ͺπ™£π™–π™£π™œ π™Žπ™žπ™—π™žπ™‘: π˜½π™šπ™©π™©π™šπ™§ π™‚π™€π™«π™šπ™§π™£π™–π™£π™˜π™š 𝙛𝙀𝙧 π™©π™π™š π™₯π™šπ™€π™₯π™‘π™š, π™¬π™žπ™©π™ π™©π™π™š π™‹π™šπ™€π™₯π™‘π™šβ€ on October 25, 2023, held at the Sorsogon Provincial Capitol Grounds, Sorsogon City.

SorSU officials, personnel and student leaders namely, Dr. Catherine De Castro (Director-Planning Office), Prof. Maria Crisanta M. Jarque (Director-Student Development & Services), Prof. Gilbert Gile (Program Chair-Public Administration), Ms. Pia BaΓ±ares (Budget Office), and USC officers, Ms. Kyrynn G. Balaoro (Treasurer) and Ms. Pauline Joy Frago (Secretary) were part of the multisectoral groups who attended the Dagyaw 2023 Town Hall Meeting. The focal point of discussions during the event was the strengthened roles of the Civil Society Organizations (CSO) and its sustained relationship with the government. These meetings will serve as vital references for LGUs and government agencies in public decision-making and in improving government policies for better public sector performance and service delivery.

The annually-held Dagyaw Open Government Town Hall Meetings are spearheaded by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and strives to primarily improve trust and confidence between the People and the Government through an open, neutral and protected space for multiple sectors across society.
