Following the month-long vacation break, Sorsogon State University (SorSU) cordially welcomed back its tertiary level students donned in SorSU uniforms, marking the first day of classes for the 2nd Semester, Academic Year 2023-2024, with a flag-raising ceremony.
Subsequently, Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Campus Director, Sorsogon City Campus) reminded the students of the guidelines on wearing the prescribed school uniform and reiterated the strict compliance by the first week of March 2024.
Meanwhile, during her brief message, SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, greeted and welcomed the SorSUeno students back with enthusiasm. “I am so happy to see you wearing your uniforms. I would like to welcome each and every one of you for our 2nd Semester, [Academic Year 2023-2024]. You have enough vacation for almost a month, so I do hope that you are now ready for your academics. May I remind na kayo ay mga iskolar ng bayan,” SorSU President De Jesus remarked, encouraging the ‘iskolar(s) ng bayan’ to remain committed to their studies since they are assisted and supported by numerous scholarship grants from various sponsors and agencies.
On the other hand, the first day of classes for the SorSU – Laboratory High School (LHS) and Graduate Level commenced last January 15 and 27, 2024, respectively. (SorSU PIO)
