3 SorSU Lab High students hail as bronze medalists at the Philippine International Mathematics Olympiad Heat Round — qualify for int’l final round in Manila
The Sorsogon State University (SorSU) warmly congratulates SorSU – Laboratory High School students Jarem Laura (Grade 10), Elvin Patrick Pura (Grade 8 ), and Maemi Maria Philippe J. Renovalles (Grade 7) for victoriously bagging bronze medals during the Philippine International Mathematics Olympiad Heat Round (Online) for Junior Secondary, Secondary 2, and Secondary 1 Categories, respectively, last April 13, 2024 — thus all are qualified for the international final round.
The three laboratory high school students are set to compete in the international final round of the competition on September 21-23, 2024, in Manila.
The Philippine International Math Olympiad (PHIMO), a Philippine-hosted international contest, is designed to engage students across the world through a battle of wits, mettle, and mathematical prowess (PHIMO, 2020).
The University proudly commends Jarem, Elvin Patrick, and Maemi for such an outstanding academic feat in the prestigious competition. Kudos also to their coach, Mr. Kristopher A.
