SorSU President De Jesus presents 1st Quarter accomplishment report at SorSU BOR regular meeting — highlights SorSU’s academic milestones, international engagements; Faculty Regent Carpio takes oath of office
The Sorsogon State University Governing Board of Regents held its 1st Quarter Meeting last May 21, 2024, at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Higher Education Development Center Building, C.P. Garcia Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City.
Chaired by CHED Commissioner Dr. Ethel Agnes Pascua Valenzuela, the meeting was attended by the honorable SorSU BOR Members.
In her report, SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, highlighted the academic milestones and achievements of the University, including the recognition from EduRank as Top 89 among 229 universities in the country and Rank 1 among SUCs in Bicol, as well as the commendations from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Sorsogon, respectively.
SorSU President also underscored SorSU’s various international undertakings and engagements — forging new linkages, academic partnerships, and other initiatives.
Further, recently elected SorSU – SSC Faculty Association (SorSU SSC-FA) President Dr. Perry F. Carpio officially took his oath of office as the new Faculty Regent. Dr. Carpio will represent the faculty federation’s interests and affairs during BOR meetings.
The items in the agenda were thoroughly reviewed and provided with supporting resolutions to continually aid the University’s efforts and endeavors toward the enhancement and advancement of its systems. (SorSU PIO)
