SorSU President, with CDs Demdam & Mendoza, joins SUC Fair 2024 in Zamboanga City

SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, alongside Campus Directors Prof. Ma. Elena C. Demdam (SorSU-Bulan Campus) & Prof. Lynn C. Mendoza (SorSU-Magallanes Campus), represented Sorsogon State University (SorSU) and joined other SUC Presidents & CHED Commissioners at the State Universities and Colleges (SUC) Fair 2024, a yearly event of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in commemoration of its 30th Anniversary & the 4th National Higher Education Day, featuring several State Universities and Colleges across various regions in the country, the from July 9-11, 2024, held at KCC Mall de Zamboanga, Zamboanga City.

Bearing the theme, “Weaving Culture and Innovations for a Transformative, Resilient, and Globally-recognized Philippine Higher Education,” the three-day fair event, hosted by West Visayas State University (WVSU) as the lead institution, consisted of the following events and activities: Voz: Quintet Vocal Competitions, Bailes y Canciones: Cultural Show – Mindanao, COPC Awards Night: Recognition of Excellence where SUCs with 100% Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) received awards, Pintar: Poster Making Competition, Booth Exhibit, Innovation, Variation, Acceleration Through Research (Innovar): Research Pitching Competition, Colors of Mindanao: Tiktok Competition, MAS (Musical Anthem of SUCs): Regional Music Video Competition, Belleza: Mr. & Ms. SUC Fair 2024, SUC Presidents and Moda: A Cultural Fashion Show, SEEnematica: Same-Event Edit Competition; Bailes y Canciones: Cultural Show – Visayas, LENTE: Photography Competition Exhibit, Plenary Talk Sessions, and Bailes y Canciones: Cultural Show – Luzon, among others.


The national event intends to establish a dynamic and engaging event experience that recognizes and honors the multifaceted accomplishments of SUCs, cultivates a sense of community and camaraderie, fosters a spirit of healthy competition, as well as exhibits the SUC Fair Expo’s achievements — promoting its legacy and potentially inspiring future collaborations and partnerships.
