Anchored on the theme, “Innovating Global Outreach: A Multi-Sectoral Approach to Internationalization,” Sorsogon State University (SorSU), represented by SorSU executives, namely, Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort (Vice President for Academic Affairs); University Campus Directors: Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Sorsogon City Campus), Prof. Ma. Elena C. Demdam (Bulan Campus), Prof. Andrew F. Detera (Castilla Campus), & Prof. Lynn C. Mendoza (Magallanes Campus); and International Relations Office (IRO) Director, Dr. Vivien L. Chua, are currently attending the two-day Conference on Sectoral Means for International Collaboration (COSMIC) 2024, at the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), in San Jose, Pili, Camarines Sur, August 1-2, 2024.
The two-day conference, spearheaded by the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges Bicol Region (PASUC V) and CBSUA, is designed to discuss and promote multi-sectoral approaches to internationalization in higher education, government agencies, and industries through convening professionals, industry practitioners, and leaders from various sectors. Further, it also intends to cultivate and forge local and international collaborative partnerships by sealing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) among the participants.
CHED Commissioner/SorSU BOR Chairperson Dr. Ethel Agnes Pascua-Valenzuela likewise graced the regional conference and delivered the keynote speech entitled, “Innovating Global Outreach: A Multi-Sectoral Approach to Internationalization,” which was one of the event’s highlights.
Additionally, COSMIC 2024 features booths of different institutions and agencies, highlighting their respective curricular offerings and internationalization efforts. (SorSU PIO)
