Key officials from Sorsogon State University (SorSU) gathered at the SorSU E-Library on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 to discuss the monitoring and evaluation of accomplishments as outlined in the Operational Guidelines in the Establishment of Research and Innovation Centers (RICs) (BOR No. 19, s. 2023).
The meeting, which commenced at 1:00 PM, was attended by; Dr. Ryan V. Dio, Vice President for Research, Extension and Training, Prof. Andrew F. Detera, the Campus Director of Castilla Campus, Dr. Susan S. Janer, the Dean of Graduate School, Dr. Leny D. Berdin, Chief Administrative Officer, Ms. Rosalie D. Labitag, the Director of Finance, Ms. Gloria Despuig, Head of Budget Office, Ms. Haive H. Camposano, Budget Officer III, Dr. Catherine A. De Castro, Director of Planning Management Office, Dr. Ivy B. Gonzales, the Director for Research and Development, Dr. Ana Cristina G. Fortes, the Director for Extension and Training, and Ms. Jezzabie G. Gamis, Head of Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management. Research Center Heads were also present at the meeting.
The primary agenda items included the Center Heads Progress Report, financial updates, and other pertinent matters. Each Center Head presented their progress reports, highlighting achievements and identifying areas needing improvement. Financial discussions focused on budget allocations and expenditures, ensuring that the RICs operate within their financial means while striving for excellence in research and innovation.
Other matters discussed included strategies for enhancing collaboration among the different campuses and departments, as well as plans for future initiatives to further the university’s research capabilities.
