A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) ceremonial signing on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management between Sorsogon State University (SorSU) and LGU-Castilla took place today, May 04, 2023, at SorSU – Castilla Campus, Mayon, Castilla, Sorsogon.
The MOA symbolizes a shared partnership and collaboration to promote involvement and participation between LGUs and higher educational institutions in formulating, adopting, and implementing programs and policies toward a comprehensive, efficient, and competitive disaster risk response.
SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus represented the Sorsogon State University, while Hon. Isagani B. Mendoza (Municipal Mayor) represented the Municipality of Castilla. SorSU top executives Dr. Ryan V. Dio (VP for Research, Extension & Training), Prof. Andrew F. Detera (SorSU Campus Director – Castilla Campus), and Prof. Achilles G. Honasan (SorSU DRR & CC Coordinator – Castilla) were also present during the ceremony.
The MOA signing was witnessed by Mr. Edgar D. Ardales, Jr. (Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office – Head) and Prof. Saturnino C. Carranza (SorSU DRRM & CC – Director).
