Sorsogon State University Castilla Campus successfully held its weeklong Freshmen and Students’ Orientation from September 3-6, 2024. The event, organized by the Office of Student Development Services (SDS), was conducted at the Farmers Training Center AV Hall and was simultaneously streamed via Facebook Live and Zoom to accommodate both in-person and remote participants. The orientation provided essential guidance to students from first to fourth year, ensuring they are well-prepared for the academic year ahead.
On the first day of orientation, SorSU President Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus delivered a heartfelt message that warmly welcomed the students, igniting a sense of inspiration. The students left feeling empowered and ready to take on the year ahead with renewed determination.
SorSU Castilla Campus Director, Prof. Andrew F. Detera, officially opened the event with welcoming remarks, followed by a virtual campus tour presented through an Audio Visual Presentation (AVP), which enabled students to familiarize themselves with the campus facilities and services.
Subsequently, various campus leaders and administrators delivered presentations that provided vital information to assist students in navigating their academic journey. These included:

The orientation also featured an open forum, providing students the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarifications on various topics. The program concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Melody Llabres, SDS Coordinator, formally marking the end of the weeklong event.
