The five-day 1st Survey Visit for AACCUP Online Program Accreditation, focused on seven academic programs, including Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics Education, Doctor of Philosophy in Language Education, Master of Arts in Teaching, Bachelor of Physical Education, Bachelor in Culture and Arts Education, Bachelor of Special Needs Education, and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, officially concluded last October 11, 2024.
The event culminated in a hybrid closing ceremony held at the SorSU-New Boardroom, allowing for both in-person and online participation via Zoom. Dr. Erwin D. Dumagpi (AACCUP, Inc. Cluster 1 Coordinator), commended the SorSU community for its dedication, emphasizing the commitment of the faculty and staff, who consistently strive for excellence in advancing the university’s vision and mission. He also highlighted the university’s top-notch dormitory and hostel facilities, which provide students with a comfortable, modern, and secure environment to support their academic journey.
Atty. Julie M. Binaldo-Velasco (AACCUP, Inc. Cluster 2 Coordinator) recognized the collaborative efforts of the Office of Quality Assurance, the Accreditation Task Force, as well as various working committees, whose efforts ensured a comprehensive and effective accreditation process. She remarked, “The accreditors have been deeply impressed by the university’s commitment. The dedication, and passion of the faculty and staff are evident in every aspect of the institution.”
Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort (Vice President for Academic Affairs), in his response, expressed profound gratitude to the AACCUP team for their invaluable expertise in evaluating the university’s seven programs.
Under the direction of Prof. Edwin J. Balgemino, the Himig SorSUenos performed “Imagine” in an audio-visual presentation. This was followed by a virtual presentation of certificates of recognition for the distinguished panel of AACCUP accreditors. In closing, Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Campus Director, Sorsogon City Campus), conveyed sincere appreciation for the essential insights and constructive suggestions provided by the AACCUP team.
The culmination of this 1st Survey Visit not only highlighted Sorsogon State University’s commitment to academic excellence but also paved the way for ongoing improvements in the educational offerings. (SorSU PIO)
