SorSU-Planning Management Office organizes Preliminary Workshop on Updating SorSU’s Strategic Plan

To further enhance the capacity of the Technical Working Group (TWG) by providing technical knowledge and guidance from the National Economic and Development Authority – Regional Office V (NEDA RO V) on development planning and updating of the Strategic Plan as well as introduce the Strategic Framework based on the identified Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs) for each strategy, Sorsogon State University – Planning Management Office (SorSU-PLMO) spearheaded SorSU Strategic Plan 2022-2026: Progress, Challenges, and Future Horizons – Preliminary Workshop on Updating SorSU’s Strategic Plan, held on October 1, 2024, at the Augusto Hall, SorSU Dormtel, SorSU-Sorsogon City Campus.

The one-day preliminary workshop focused on presentations and discussions/workshops on the following activities, including the Development Planning Cycle by Engr. Gilberto A. Abion (Chief Economic Development Specialist, NEDA RO V – Policy Formulation and Planning Division); Assessment & Challenges and Strategy Framework Updating by Engr. Cindy D. Deocareza (Planning Officer III, SorSU-PLMO); Highlights of SWOT and STEEP Analyses & Results of Scenario Planning by Ms. Cyrin Mae G. Burton (TWG, Sorsogon City Campus); SorSU VMG, Thrusts, and Priorities of New Admin by Dr. Catherine A. De Castro (Director, SorSU-PLMO); PAPs/Initiatives per Strategy by Ms. Janine D. Bitara (Planning Officer I).


The participants also engaged in an open forum and mentoring sessions. Additionally, several officials from the Policy Formulation and Planning Division of NEDA RO V were invited as resource persons, namely, Ms. Jubemay A. Mangalino (Supervising Economic Development Specialist (EDS)), Ms. Nancy K. Fernandez (Senior EDS), Ms. Arlyn A. Ramirez (Senior EDS), Ms. Michelle B. Brosas (Senior EDS), and Mr. Luis Carlo S.
