Twenty-eight (28) choir members of Himig SorSUenos, alongside Prof. Edwin J. Balgemino (Choirmaster, Himig SorSUenos) and Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Campus Director, SorSU-Sorsogon City Campus), received Certificates of Commendation from the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Sorsogon (8th City Council), honoring Himig SorSUenos’ outstanding international achievement — notching Gold Award Level II (Second Highest) for Mixed Choir Level B Category as well as Gold Award for Pop & Jazz Category during the 6th Penabur International Choir Festival in Jakarta Indonesia — held at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall, Cabid-an, Sorsogon City, Sorsogon, on October 08, 2024.
The Sorsogon City Council extended its congratulations and commendation to Himig SorSUenos by passing Sangguniang Panlungsod Resolution No. 645, Series of 2024, authored by Hon. Ma. Teresa D. Perdigon.
Mr. Roy O. Jarlego (Culture & Arts Coordinator, Sorsogon City Campus) and Prof. Lizel D. Lerios were also present during the event.
