Overview

Sorsogon State University is committed to supporting SDG 11, which aims to create inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities and human settlements. This goal addresses the challenges of urbanization by promoting access to affordable housing, sustainable transportation, and green public spaces.
 
Through activities supporting green spaces, and Recycling, Reusing & Reducing (3Rs) initiatives, policy implementation on energy saving measures, among others, the university helps minimize the environmental impact of urban areas and enhancing urban planning. By aiming to foster sustainable urban development, SorSU creates vibrant and inclusive communities that can thrive amidst future challenges.

FEATURED STORY

SorSU – ORD, in collaboration with DLSU – Social Development Research Center (SDRC), equip SorSU faculty researchers/extensionists on lecture-workshop called Empowering Communities: Social Science Research Methods for Effective Social Extension Work

With the aim to integrate the strengths of both institutions to achieve high academic standards and foster practical applications through extension work, Sorsogon State University (SorSU), through the Office of Research and Development (ORD) and Office of Extension and Training (OET) Services, in partnership with De La Salle University – Social Development Research Center (DLSU-SDRC), successfully capacitated selected SorSU faculty researchers and extensionists on a lecture-workshop called “Empowering Communities: Social Science Research Methods for Effective Social Extension Work” on July 9, 2024, at the SorSU E-Library, Sorsogon City Campus.
