The Sorsogon State University Non-Teaching Personnel Association (NTPA) successfully held its 2024 General Assembly on January 28, 2025, at the SorSU Social Hall, Sorsogon City Campus.
The event began with welcome remarks from Mr. Gerald E. Fulay, JD (Vice President for Administration and Finance), who expressed appreciation for the association’s commitment and dedication. SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, followed with an inspiring message highlighting the hard work and teamwork of the NTPA members. She remarked, “Thank you for making my administration as smooth and hassle-free as possible. I also commend Mr. Arvin B. Pura and the NTPA officers for their effective leadership and for maintaining strong relationships with the members and other university personnel. I appreciate your cooperation with my administration – without it, we would not reach as far and as high as we have gone now.”
The assembly also honored four retirees – Mrs. Gloria B. Despuig, Mrs. Marie Susan D. Caudilla, Ms. Cristita B. Labayo, and Mr. Elynor E. Guemo – by presenting them with cash awards and certificates of recognition for their years of dedicated service to the university.
The meeting continued with formal proceedings, including the Call to Order, Determination of Quorum, and the reading and approval of the minutes from the previous General Assembly. Mr. Arvin B. Pura (SorSU-NTPA President) delivered his annual President’s Report and Ms. Catherine Destacamento-Buenaflor (SorSU-NTPA Treasurer) presented the financial update in her Treasurer’s Report.
A key highlight of the assembly was the election of new officers for the association. Overseen by the Chairperson and members of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the following individuals were elected:
