In accordance with the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office V’s (CHED RO V) Memorandum No. 34, s. 2025, Sorsogon State University (SorSU) enjoins all academic units to adopt and integrate the principles outlined in the CHED Region V Slogan “BICOL” and the Eight-Point Agenda (HIGH FIVE).
The slogan, “BICOL” (Building Institutions as Champions of Optimum Life-long Learning, calls on Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to advance beyond traditional instruction and become pioneers of innovation, excellence, and lifelong learning.
Further, the Eight-Point Agenda aims to develop well-rounded learners through holistic education and equitable access, as well as guide HEIs in their pursuit of global partnerships, cultural preservation, future-ready programs, research and innovation undertakings, partnerships and collaborations, and community empowerment.
All concerned offices and faculty members are encouraged to incorporate these principles into their academic programs, research initiatives, and extension projects, aligning with current national and global educational trends. (SorSU OVPAA & PIO)
