To strengthen connection and foster camaraderie among its employees toward a more united, empowered SorSU community, Sorsogon State University (SorSU) successfully engaged its teaching and non-teaching personnel in a university-wide team building as part of the week-long celebration of its 118th Founding Anniversary on May 29, 2024, at the Rizal Beach Resort, Rizal Beach, Gubat, Sorsogon.
In her inspirational message, SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all key officials and employees for their dedication to excellence and the University’s continuous advancement.
The SorSU President underscored, “This is not a one-woman show. Although I am your president, success will never happen without your full cooperation. I have the best team… Empowerment, unity, and cooperation — these are the keys to achieving excellence.”
Under the theme “Beyond Borders: Bridging Minds, Building Strengths 2.0,” the university-wide team-building activity highlighted team development dances, interactive team games, and the iconic formation of a human SorSU. The newly hired SorSU employees, both teaching and non-teaching personnel, formally introduced themselves to their fellow colleagues. This was followed by the Path to Belonging activity, which included a series of stations that welcomed them as official members of the academic community.
The event concluded with a closing message from Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort (Vice President for Academic Affairs), who expressed his profound appreciation for the commitment and enthusiasm of the working committees and participants throughout the day’s activities.
SorSU remains committed to providing positive experiences that support and empower the general well-being of its employees while promoting deeper connections among its community members.
