In an outstanding historic milestone toward its pursuit of institutional excellence on the global stage, Sorsogon State University (SorSU) has proudly entered the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings 2025, securing a rank between 1001-1500 out of 2,318 participating institutions worldwide.

Among the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) assessed, SorSU excelled particularly in SDG #2 – Zero Hunger, achieving a rank between 101-200 out of 955 institutions. The University also demonstrated a notable rank of 401-600 out of 1267 institutions for SD1 #1 – No Poverty, 601-800 out of 1559 for SDG #5 – Gender Equality, and 1001-1500 out of 2,389 institutions for SDG #17 – Partnership for the Goals.
In reference, the THE University Impact Rankings serve as a global performance ranking that evaluates global higher education institutions’ (HEIs) success in achieving the United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (Times Higher Education, 2025).


This historic achievement underscores the University’s steadfast commitment to promoting the United Nations’ 17 SDGs by proactively integrating these global goals into its undertakings, initiatives, and practices.
