Sorsogon State University-Quality Assurance Office, headed by Dr. Jenet B. Fuentes (Director, SorSU QA), hosted the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office V (CHED RO V) Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) on February 21, 2025, for an evaluation of its Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (Sorsogon City Campus) and Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (Magallanes Campus) programs, held at the SorSU Dormtel, Sorsogon City Campus.
The visit was led by Ms. Ma. Sharie A. Bailon, (Education Program Specialist), and Dr. Tressa Adelfa M. Mortola (RQAT Member). The event commenced with the opening remarks from Prof. Roman Julio B. Infante (Program Chair, BS Accountancy). Ms. Bailon delivered the Statement of Purpose, emphasizing the goals of assessing the programs’ compliance with CHED’s quality standards.
The team conducted a Documentation Review and Assessment, examining curricula, faculty qualifications, and program outcomes. After the review, Ms. Bailon provided feedback and impressions of the programs. The assessment team’s remarks were aimed at providing valuable insights to strengthen the programs and enhance their impact on students.
In closing, Prof. Ma. Claire M. Dicen (Dean, College of Business and Management) expressed gratitude, recognizing the team’s commitment and the importance of feedback in enhancing the quality of programs.
The visit concluded with an exit conference, where the RQAT team shared a summary of their findings. The assessment reinforced SorSU’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of education in the fields of Accountancy and Entrepreneurship. (SorSU PIO)
