In recognition of its unwavering commitment and invaluable contribution to training tourism and hospitality management students under the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Program in 2024, Sorsogon State University (SorSU) has been honored with the FBSE Academe Partner Award by the Department of Tourism (DOT), conferred during the FBSE Summit on July 21, 2025, at The Bellevue Manila in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, together with Dr. Ma. Claire M. Dicen (Dean, College of Business and Management) and Ms. Frida Mae R. Anchos (Program Chair, BS Tourism Management), proudly received the FBSE recognition.
The FBSE Program, a flagship initiative of the DOT, highlights the promotion of the culture and identity of Filipino hospitality, aimed at elevating the quality of services and tourism across various sectors throughout the country.
Themed “The Power of FBSE: Paving the Way for a Culture-Centered Nation,” the summit is designed to gather tourism stakeholders, government partners, and service excellence advocates, emphasizing the FBSE journey and cultivating collaboration in sustaining its impact.
The event also included insightful discussions and keynote sessions that explored the history, significance, and future directions of FBSE, underscoring its essential role in cultural promotion and the enhancement of Filipino service standards.
This recognition affirms the University’s role as a key partner in elevating service standards, advancing tourism, and shaping the future of Filipino hospitality.
