In a significant milestone for Sorsogon State University (SorSU), President Geraldine De Jesus has been elected as the Vice President for Luzon of the State Universities and Colleges – Association of Colleges of Agriculture in the Philippines (SUC-ACAP), Inc. during the 2025 Biennial Conference and General Assembly held on August 27–29 at the Metrocentre Hotel, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
This marks the first time in the history of SorSU that the university has been elected to a key leadership position within SUC-ACAP – a testament to the growing influence and active participation of SorSU in national conversations on agricultural education.
Held under the theme “Future-Proofing Agriculture Education: Fostering Smart, Sustainable, and Inclusive Agriculture,” the biennial gathering brought together agriculture leaders, educators, and policymakers from state universities and colleges across the Philippines.
Dr. De Jesus’ election is part of the new SUC-ACAP leadership roster, which includes distinguished university presidents from across the country, reflecting a renewed vision for collaborative and future-ready agricultural education in the Philippines.
