COPC No. 89, s. 2025
Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness (BSAB) Program per CMO No. 24, s. 2007
Academic Year (AY) 2025-2026
As stipulated in CMO No. 23, s. 2021, the BSA program, majors in Crop Science and Animal Science, is designed to educate students in scientific thinking and entrepreneurial skills, equipping them to become globally competitive with entry-level competencies in technical agriculture. The program focuses on the processes and techniques of identifying, diagnosing, and analyzing problems, as well as designing, packaging, and applying technologies needed in the development and conservation of agricultural and food system resources.
On the other hand, the BSAB program under CMO No. 24, s. 2007, aims to produce educated, well-rounded professionals in agribusiness who are capable of meeting the national and global needs for highly trained managers, academics, researchers, extensionists, and entrepreneurs, with an emphasis on creating and entering the business of agriculture. Further, the program is systems-oriented, focusing on the interactions of all activities and factors that affect the manufacture and distribution of farm supplies; production activities on the farm; and the storage, processing, and distribution of farm commodities and products made from them, both locally and globally.
The granting of the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) for the BSAB Program, along with the reissuance of the COPC for the BSA Program—now distinctly separating Crop Science and Animal Science—was facilitated by the successful CHED-Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) visit and monitoring on May 27, 2025.
The SorSU community extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Castilla Campus, headed by Prof. Andrew F. Detera, Dr. Rochele N. Aragon (Dean, College of Agriculture), Program Chairs Prof. Mary Ann P. Caro (BSAB) and Prof. Cristy T. Jintalan (BSA), and faculty members for their unwavering commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance. (SorSU PIO)
