Sorsogon State University, represented by SUC President III Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, took part in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing of Project GAYON (Guidance Assistance for the Youth Online) during the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) Congress 2025 hosted by Catanduanes State University on September 9, 2025.
An initiative of CHED Regional Office V under the leadership of Regional Director Dr. Demetrio P. Anduyan Jr., Project GAYON is an innovative platform designed to connect students with licensed guidance counselors across the Bicol Region. The program seeks to strengthen mental health services in higher education institutions by ensuring that students have access to timely, professional, and holistic support.
Dr. De Jesus’ presence and participation in the MOU signing underscores SorSU’s commitment to advancing student-centered initiatives that promote well-being, academic success, and overall personal development.
The MOU signing was one of the highlights of the TES Congress 2025, which gathered SUC Presidents, HEI and LGU representatives, and education leaders across the region to collaborate on programs that enhance student support systems. (SorSU PIO)
