SorSU’s Mr. Hiloma Leads Team to Earn Silver Award in Global Conference

Sorsogon State University proudly congratulates Mr. Kristopher A. Hiloma, faculty member of the BSEd Mathematics program at the SorSU–Sorsogon City Campus, together with his research team, for earning the Silver Award for Best Paper at the 11th International Conference on Science and Mathematics Education (CoSMEd-XI), held on September 8–10, 2025, at SEAMEO RECSAM, Penang, Malaysia.

Competing against 108 international research entries, their study titled “Implementation Challenges in Assessing Mathematical Proficiency in Grade 7 Mathematics: The Case of Sorsogon Province Mathematics Teachers” brought international recognition to the University and emphasized SorSU’s meaningful contributions to the global academic community.


This notable achievement affirms SorSU’s identity as a research university committed to innovation, excellence, and advancing educational research. The University extends its warmest congratulations to Mr. Hiloma and his co-authors, Prof. Anthony L. Madrazo, Mr. Benjamin L. Ambrose, Ms. Ma. Luz P. De Jesus, Prof. Karina D.
