The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Professional Regulatory Board for Professional Teachers (PRBPT) honored Sorsogon State University (SorSU) at the Oath-taking Ceremonies for New Professional Teachers on February 10, 2026, at the Albay Astrodome, Legazpi City, Albay, for its exemplary performance during the September 2025 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), remarkably ranking 4th among Top Performing Schools nationwide in the elementary level with a performance rating of 96.74%.
The certificate of recognition was received by SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, and the Dean of the College of Teacher Education, Dr. Alfonso L. Garcia, Jr.
Among the inductees who joined the face-to-face oath-taking ceremony were SorSUeno LEPT passers, including two national topnotchers: Ms. Lyka Dones Delgado (BSNED), ranked 5th (elementary level) with 93.20% rating, and Ms. Melly Detera Dolosa (BSED-English), placed 7th (secondary level) with 93.60% rating.
Messages were also delivered by esteemed officials, namely Dir. Sharo B. Lo (Regional Director, PRC ROV), Hon. Paz I. Lucido (Vice Chairperson, Board for Professional Teachers), Hon. Paraluman R. Giron (Member, Board for Professional Teachers), and Dr. Jonald B. Sia (President, Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators).
This recognition from the PRC and PRBPT not only demonstrates SorSU’s outstanding academic performance but also reaffirms the university’s unwavering commitment to cultivating a culture of excellence, inspiring both faculty and students to pursue higher standards and meaningful academic goals.
