The National Book Development Board (NBDB) has approved the registration of Sorsogon State University (SorSU) as a 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫 (𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘵 & 𝘋𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭) as well as a 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫 (𝘙𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭 & 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳).
The approved registration of the University is pursuant to the provisions of Republic Act 8047, also known as the 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘗𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘈𝘤𝘵, subject to the representation and commitment set forth in its application for registration, the provisions of the above law, the rules and regulations of NBDB, and the terms and conditions herein prescribed.
Signed by NBDB Chairman Dante Francis M. Ang II, the Certificate of Registration (No. 6338) is valid until August 31, 2024.
The NBDB, under RA 8047, is mandated to primarily formulate and implement a 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘗𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘺 with a corresponding 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘯 aimed toward the continuing development of the book publishing industry.
