SorSU clinches 2 gold, 1 silver, & 10 bronze medals in Chess Tournament Final Result

Sorsogon State University (SorSU), after surpassing a series of mind games, wit, and tactics in the battle of SCUAA Meet 2023 – Chess Tournament, victoriously secured two (2) gold medals, both men’s and women’s categories and one (1) silver medal (women’s category) in individual chess events, in addition to ten (10) bronze medals during the team chess events (5 bronze – men’s division & 5 bronze – women’s divisions).

Hence, the University applauds Mr. Symon Joseph Domanais (BSME-3, Sorsogon City Campus) & Ms. Xianlou Madrid (BET-Electronics Technology-3, Sorsogon City Campus) for winning both the gold medals during the individual chess tournament in men’s and women’s divisions, respectively, and Ms. Sheila Llaguno (BSA major in Agricultural Education, Castilla Campus) for obtaining the silver medal in individual chess event (women’s category), as well as the SorSU Men’s Chess Team, namely: Mr. Simon Domanais (BSME-3, Sorsogon City Campus), Mr. Genesis Balbido (BSIT-3, Bulan Campus), Mr. Jomar Gile (BSA-3, Bulan Campus), & Mr. Joey Estaras (BET-Architectural Drafting, Sorsogon City Campus) and SorSU Women’s Chess Team, namely: Ms. Xianlou Madrid (BET-Electronics Technology-3, Sorsogon City Campus), Sheila Llaguno (BSA major in Agricultural Education, Castilla Campus), Samantha Jane Doctor (BSIT-3, Bulan Campus), & Jomarie Doringo (BET-Architectural Drafting, Sorsogon City Campus) for garnering both the bronze medals in Team Event Categories (men’s and women’s divisions).
