Acknowledging the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, SorSU has undertaken various climate change mitigation activities to support its commitment as a carbon-neutral university. SorSU has implemented community livelihood development, coastal and upland protection projects, critical resilient infrastructure assessment and implementation, widespread solid waste management, marine conservation, beach restoration, coastal governance, road sharing, and non-motorized mobility initiatives. The university values edible landscaping, renewable energy and conservation efforts, and recycling programs. SorSU also participates in the annual Earth Hour, and practices eco-governance through its policies.
